Mathematics Educator and Blogger

I appreciate you checking out Black Girl Math™. My name is Vada Gray, and I have been an educator for 25 years. I began Black Girl Math™ in 2019 to share my experiences as a culturally responsive teacher to improve access to mathematics for Black students. My goal is to post monthly except during the summer months (educators have to have a break!)

I have served as an administrator, classroom teacher, consultant, and as a K-12 culturally responsive coach in literacy, mathematics, and science. One of my favorite roles has been to support leaders and teachers through professional learning and coaching. I am so happy and honored that I am back to working with schools in my new role as a graduate student and adjunct professor.
